Munich Walls & ISPO 2012

Earlier this week 2 Core delegates nipped over to Munich for a 2-day blast visit, the main reason being the annual ISPO winter tradeshow.
In summer we have a stand on the Outdoor show, presenting our brand and latest products. The ISPO however mostly focuses on winter sports, hence only a brief visit meeting some of our distributors and customers.
If you've never been to either of these shows -they're HUGE, absolutely massive! All brands, big and small usually have some sort of presence and it's a merry meet&greet for everyone in the outdoor industry, emphasis on merry.

After having shaken many a hand at the show, we visited two of our big German customers: first we paid a visit to the well-established Thalkirchen climbing wall, which has recently been facelifted and expanded. We had a look around and enjoyed a leisurely coffee in the modern cafe, with a view of their outdoor lead wall in snowy surroundings.
When we felt we'd done enough lazing about we hopped on the bus to Boulderwelt, with it's 1400 m2 climbing surface the biggest dedicated bouldering wall in the world. In our opinion the coolest thing about this wall (apart from the little Yeti popping up everywhere to help you find your way) is their symmetrical Core Board. But then we would say that, of course...
Anyway, after a quick session unfortunately it was time for us to make our way back to the airport, have one last beer and hop on the plane.
Back to work!
